At a glance
A couples wellness stay works best when each person’s goals are explicit. Shared accommodation does not require identical programmes or shared access to medical information.
Agree the purpose
Discuss whether you want rest, active time, separate assessments or relationship-focused work. A wellness retreat is not automatically couples therapy. If therapy is the main objective, ask about the practitioner’s qualifications and the actual therapeutic format.
Allow different schedules
Check whether one person can have a clinical programme while the other chooses a lighter itinerary. Compare companion rates and inclusions. Private programmes may require a separate suitability and fee discussion for each person.
Protect consent and space
Agree which consultations are shared and which remain confidential. Leave room for individual rest, different food needs and separate movement levels rather than expecting every activity to be a joint experience.
