At a glance
Nutrition retreats differ in philosophy, restriction, professional input and food flexibility. Compare what you will actually eat and who helps adapt the plan to your needs.
Review the food approach
Ask about allergies, dietary preferences, medical conditions, medicines and any history of disordered eating. Establish whether the programme requires fasting or severe restriction and whether a qualified professional will review suitability.
Look for practical skills
Menus are only part of the experience. Ask whether you will learn meal planning, shopping or strategies for work and travel. A personal chef can help practise recommendations, but the plan still needs to function without residential support.
Separate nutrition from detox claims
Be cautious about promises to remove unspecified toxins. The evidence for commercial cleanses is limited, and restrictive approaches can carry risks. Read our guide to detox language before choosing a programme.
